How To Model Pose Biography

The changing bio/pharmaceutical manufacturing requirements and technologies present a major challenge to CMOs. Much of the manufacturing capacity of the dose CMO industry is compromised of legacy facilities acquired in the past 10 years from global bio/pharmaceutical companies and embodies the large-scale, inflexible, and high-cost batch manufacturing processes that were dominant 20 years ago. As the manufacturing needs of the bio/pharmaceutical industry evolve in the next 5–10 years, CMOs risk being left behind with underutilized facilities that are unsuited for their potential clients' needs.
Only a few CMOs can be considered innovators in manufacturing technology and practice despite the fact that manufacturing is only the thing they do. To a large degree, the CMO business forces them to focus on their clients' current and near-term needs. CMOs deal with a lot of older products and even with new products, their bio/pharmaceutical company clients are unwilling to take on the risk of new manufacturing technologies unless they absolutely have to. CMO profit margins generally do not allow much room for investment in innovation, and most innovative technologies housed at CMOs have been developed and paid for by their clients.
Unless CMOs become more forward-looking about their technology choices and investments, they risk losing out to new entrants and potential clients. The new technologies will often require less investment in facilities and utilities. Because they are smaller and more self-contained, more companies will be tempted to build their own facilities. Because they will operate more-or-less continuously and be highly automated, they will produce drugs less expensively than the older technologies.
Today, the competitive challenges that CMOs seem most focused on are how to differentiate themselves from their many North American and European competitors while keeping a wary eye on producers in emerging markets. By not appreciating the changing manufacturing requirements of their clients and the related new technologies, they risk being made obsolete.
This scenario bears a strong resemblance to what happened to Kodak, which recently filed for bankruptcy protection in the US. Because it was focused on preserving its cash cow—the film and photo processing business—the company viewed its primary competitive threats as coming from Fujifilm and other low-cost film manufacturers. As a result, it overlooked the emergence of digital photography, the new technology that ultimately undermined the company. CMOs could now be facing their Kodak moment.

Model Poses For Beginners Biography

Skinny and sultry, Adriana Lima has been modelling since 1994, first in Brazil and later in New York City and Europe. Like her countrywoman Gisele Bundchen, Lima gained fame after posing in Guess clothing ads; also like Bundchen, Lima is perhaps most famous for her appearances with Victoria's Secret. (She appeared dressed as an angel in the company's 2000 fashion show and has been a featured regular ever since). Lima had a role in The Follow, one of the popular online short films created by BMW in 2001; she played the beautiful young wife tailed by BMW driver Clive Owen. She's also made a few TV appearances, including guest shots on How I Met Your Mother (2007) and Ugly Betty (2008).
Extra credit: Lima is 5'10" tall and of "French, Portuguese, Native American and Caribbean descent," according to the CBS website for the 2007 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show... She married basketball pro Marco Jaric in a civil ceremony in Jackson Hole, Wyoming on 14 February 2009; he's a 6'7" Serbian who was playing for the NBA's Minnesota Timberwolves at the time of their marriage. Jaric was born on 12 October 1978... Other models who have posed for Guess include Anna Nicole Smith, James King and Ingrid Seynhaeve.
By taking care in not only how your model is posed, but also paying attention to the background, you will minimize your postprocessing workflow. For example, it is much easier and faster to take a minute or two to clean up and remove the offending clutter, lint, or errant strand of hair before shooting than spending an hour cloning it out in dozens of individual pictures.
There are hundreds of different poses, and this tutorial will cover only a few of the common ones along with some suggestions such as the camera angle, composition and poses. A caveat: there is no one-size-fits-all technique when it comes to working with your model. A body position or camera angle that works for one person may not for the next. If you’re shooting an image in which your model’s face fills most of the frame, make sure the camera is a few inches above her nose. Nostrils are not attractive. And this compels your subject to look up at the lens, which is more pleasing. The angle will help thin out their face slightly. If you’re photographing a woman that is bottom heavy, aka “pear-shaped” or heavy-weight, avoid shooting from below. Shooting from extreme low or high above will exaggerate people’s proportions; photographing low to the ground makes the hips seem overly large and the head small. And the opposite is (usually) true if shooting your subject from above may help make a heavyset person seem slimmer.A common pose an amateur model may adopt is a three-quarter turn with the shoulder raised, hiding the neck and chin or jaws. While this may feel coquettish in your subject’s mind, all it accomplishes is hiding the model’s neck and makes the shoulder nearest the camera seem overly large and rounded. Have them drop the near-shoulder downward instead. She was trained to wrestle by the legendary Killer Kowalski at his school in Salem, Massachusetts. She made her pro wrestling debut in 1995. In 1997, she met Shawn Michaels and Triple H who felt that her unique look could be an asset for them. In February, she made her WWE debut as the bodyguard for Triple H. A few months later, D-Generation X was formed and she was an original member of this revolutionary group that helped to redefine wrestling in the '90s.

Fashion Model Poses Biography

Models-One? Bling... bling...bling... YUCK!!! I'm soooo.... tired of seeing the over egged "fashion" stuff that is out and about, too much make-up; hair like a bird's nest; too much crap styling in the clothes that look like they were borrowed from a Salvation Army second-hand shop (or worse, came out of a rag bin); too much Photoshop post-processing; the lot of it - not to mention the amount of out-and-out crap that passes for "fashion" images in popular publications taking perfectly normal women and making them look... well... horrible is at least one word that comes readily to mind, that I have seriously been considering a project just shooting ANTI-fashion.Does anyone know of a good site with plenty of ideas/samples for posing? I've been working with some models who don't really know how strike interesting poses for studio shots. I've been giving them suggestion but I'm beginning to run out of ideas, so I was hoping to find a posing related website. If you're talking about fashion photography, the best/only resource is fashion magazines themselves. You should constantly be collecting tear sheets from the best magazines, both for inspiration, and for demonstrating to others (models, stylists, hair/makeup artists) what you're trying to achieve.Marc Jacobs was born on April 9, 1963, the son of two theatrical agents. His father died when he was only 7 years old. He went to live with his grandmother, who taught him how to knit.
After his graduation at the High School of Art & Design, he entered Parsons School of Design, and in his final year (1984) created a collection of handknit sweaters (made by his grandmother) which won him the Perry Ellis Golden Thimble award. Spent his formative years shuttling between school and Studio 54, the Manhattan Disco. After graduating, he designed under his own label for two years, creating irreverent take-offs of 60's hippie style clothing and versions of patchwork and gingham.
While studying, Marc Jacobs won many prizes including "Design Student of the Year 1984". This gave Marc Jacobs the opportunity to start his first ready-to-wear collection for Ruben Thomas Inc. In 1986, with the support of Kashyama USA Inc., Marc Jacobs designed his first collection with his own "Marc Jacobs" label.
In 1987 Marc Jacobs received the "Perry Ellis Award for New Fashion Talent", the highest tribute possible in the American fashion world.
In 1989 Marc Jacobs joined Perry Ellis and was named Vice-President of Women's Design. While at Perry Ellis, Marc Jacobs created the designer collection as well as overseeing the various women's licensees.
In 1992, the CFDA once agai bestowed Jacobs with a distint honor: womenswear designer of the year.
He left Perry Ellis in 1993, he went back to designing under his own label. He favours sensuous fabrics such as angora, cashmere and mohair and will occasionally surprise with neon rubber separates and laminated sequined jeans.
In 1997, he was voted Womenswear Designer of the Year by the CFDA. At the same year, he won the design job at Louis Vuitton, the elegant French luggage maker. He has introduced modern pop and kisch into their sedate image. He also makes what the New York Times calls his 'caviar clothes' for the up market women. Rich women in the 30's are attracted to his witty update of the Vuitton brand that has been carried by generations before them. Robert Duffy is Jacobs business partner, who has worked with him from his earliest days at Perry Ellis. Louis Vuitton is owned by LVMH of Arnault Bernard, the same owner of Givenchy and Dior. LVMH appointed Jacobs to the helm of Vuitton giving him responsibility for launching the ready-to-wear collections, and adding new accessories to the existing lines. Marc Jacobs has now moved to Paris, although he prefers working in his New York studio. His Paris studio is just steps away from the Louvre and Notre Dame Cathedral. Marc Jacobs is just the person to propel the 154 year old company into the future. Vuitton, an impeccable but rather conservative leather-goods house, is now one of the world's most sought-after fashion labels.
In the year 2000/2002, the city of New York decided to honour 24 American fashion designers by placing bronze plaques along the pavement of 7th Avenue, the great street of fashion in New York. This has been called the "FASHION WALK OF FAME." Marc Jacobs was one of those honoured with a plaque.
In May, Marc Jacobs confirmed that he had signed a new contract with LVMH for ten years. He issued an emotional statement that Bernard Arnault had helped him considerably and his loyalty was never in question. We will therefore be seeing his designs at Louis Vuitton for many years to come.
In August 2004, Marc celebrated the opening of his latest US store in Boston. The theme was the Olympics which were going on at the time, and Marc himself was decked out in fencing kit. This year he will open stores in Los Angeles, Shanghai and Chicago.

Male Modeling Poses Biography

Contact your local art school or college to see if they are hiring art models. You can start with the art department, but ask if there is someone in particular assigned to hire models for all classes. Sometimes each instructor hires their own models. If you want to pose for a photographer, also look on any one of a number of websites that link models to photographers. Free online classified advertising websites also often post ads for nude models. This is the first step because it may in fact be difficult to find work in a tight economy. Interestingly, male models are in especially short supply in some geographic areas.Length - Poses for figure drawing generally fall into three categories: gestures which are less than three minutes, short poses which are three to 20 minutes, and long poses which are done for as long as necessary in 20 minute intervals with a short break in between. The latter is generally the norm for painting and sculpture; drawing classes will require a number of shorter poses. Any class may begin with a few gestures as a "warm-up".He is the ultimate renaisance man. As a model, Ngo Okafor has graced the pages and covers of countless magazines and has been called the most downloaded black male model. He has worked with international superstars such as Gisele Bundchen, Mary J. Blige and Lil’ Kim. As an actor he has worked on numerous TV shows, movies and Soap operas. On screen, Ngo has worked with Catherine Zeta-Jones, Accademy award winner, Monique and Bridget Moynahan. As a boxer, he is a back-to-back, two-time Golden Gloves Champion.
He has been called one of the quickest studies the boxing world has ever seen, a powerful yet graceful presence in the ring and one of the quickest studies the fight world has ever seen. Within three years of beginning his career in 2005, Ngoli Onyeka Okafor, became a two-time heavyweight champion, winning back-to-back Golden Gloves, amateur boxing’s highest distinction. His accomplishments are even more impressive when one considers Ngo’s background. Raised in the Ibo speaking region of Nigeria, the second child of a Harvard academic and a teacher, sports were frowned upon in his house; brains were always valued over brawn. “My dad used to say athletes are like jesters in a kings court,” recalls Ngo, whose name means joy in Ibo. “I’ve always appreciated the value of a good education, but him saying that used to really piss me off, because I felt like I could have both.” He attended the University of Connecticut in the US and studied computer science, eventually landing a job with the Connecticut Department of Transportation, where he taught engineers and architects how to draw using computers. “I’ve always loved computers and there’s a part of me that will always be a bit of a nerd,” says Ngo. “But I also knew that I was naturally athletic and I wanted to see where that side would take me. I was curious to see if I could play at the highest level.”He accidentally stumbled into boxing five years ago, at the ripe old age of 31 (around the time when most fighters hang up their gloves). What began as a simple workout routine (punching the bag, jumping rope, etc) quickly grew into an all-consuming passion for Ngo, who, at the urging of several fashion photographers, had relocated to New York City to pursue modeling. Professional fighters who watched him sparring noticed his innate talent and encouraged him to develop his skill. With the fierce dedication he’s applied to his work throughout his life, he immersed himself in the ring, training five to six hours a day…every day. “Boxing became my life,” he says. “I wanted to be one of the best that ever did it. I started later than most fighters, so I know I had to make up for lost time.”
After winning the Golden Gloves by unanimous decision in 2008 and 2009, Ngo, never one to rest on his laurels, turned his sites towards modeling and acting. With his boyish good looks, chiseled physique and quiet intensity, he was a natural. Over the years, he’s posed with supermodels like Gisele Bundchen (V Magazine) and superstars like Mary J. Blige (MAC Cosmetic’s Viva Glam campaign). He’s appeared in more than a dozen issues of Men’s Health Magazine, has produced two best-selling calendars and has been featured in publications ranging from Vogue and W to ESPN and Fortune.
Most recently, he was celebrated alongside five Olympians in the Spring issue of the Wall Street Journal Magazine. As a result of all of his efforts, he is now considered to be the most downloaded black male model in the world. Ngo’s acting career is also taking off. His television work has included stints on soap operas and TV series. He just wrapped work on a feature film titled “Jeremy Fink and The Meaning of Life”. Ngo also worked on “The Rebound”, starring Catherine Zeta Jones, which opens in theaters in summer 2010 and he’s currently at work on, “Three Rounds”, a feature-length documentary, which chronicles his journey from Nigeria to the top of the boxing world. “I really want the film to inspire people to dream big and work hard,” says Ngo. “That’s always been my mantra and so far so good.”

Model Poses For Men

Model Poses For Men Biography

Actress. Born Carol Alt on December 1, 1960, in College Point, New York. Alt's father, Anthony, was a New York City fire chief. Her mother, Muriel, was an airline employee and former model. Despite her precocious good looks and early exposure to modeling, Alt says, "I was totally not interested in fashion as a child. I was a tomboy. I was more interested in passing the football and getting on the hockey team."
After graduating from high school, Alt enrolled at Hofstra University in 1979 on an Army ROTC scholarship. In addition to attending classes and participating in military drills, Alt waited tables at a local steak house. One day a photographer walked into the restaurant and told her she should be a model. He took Alt to the Elite Modeling Agency, where fashion mogul John Casablancas took one look at the leggy beauty and offered her a contract on the spot. Shortly after their first meeting, Alt dropped out of college to pursue a modeling career full time. Alt's decision to quit college infuriated her parents. "The one tip I gave her was, don't do it," her mother recalls.
Alt enjoyed immediate success as a model. In 1980, only a few months after leaving Hofstra, she appeared on the cover of Harper's Bazaar. Two years later, Alt landed on the cover of the 1982 Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition, one of the most coveted covers in all of fashion. Propelled by this early success, Alt went on to become one of the most ubiquitous faces of the 1980s. She graced the covers of more than 700 magazines including Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Mademoiselle and Playboy. Life magazine called Alt "the next million dollar face" and Playboy proclaimed her "the most beautiful woman in the world."
In addition to her photo shoots, Alt worked as a runway model for Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. Her long list of lucrative advertising campaigns included LancĂ´me, Cover Girl, Pepsi and General Motors. Expanding the traditional boundaries of the modeling industry, in the early 1980s Alt posed for a series of five posters. When Elite rejected the project, Alt self-produced the posters and they became huge bestsellers, sparking a new trend in the modeling business. "From then on it's been, if you're a supermodel you have a poster," Alt says. Through her omnipresence at newsstands and her forays into posters and calendars, Alt charted a course for a new kind of model, the supermodel. John Casablancas has called Alt "the model that started the supermodel trend."
Anna Nicole Smith was born Vickie Lynn Hogan on November 28, 1967, in Mexia, Texas. A high school dropout, Smith's dramatic life began quietly in the small Texas town of Mexia. She had a difficult childhood, growing up without her father who left the family when she was only a baby. As a teenager, Smith worked at a local fried chicken restaurant. There she met cook Billy Smith, and the pair married when she was only 17 years old. The couple had a son named Daniel in 1984, but the marriage later broke up. Not content with small-town life, Smith dreamed of becoming the next Marilyn Monroe.Determined not to be typecast in roles that focus on her looks, Romijn makes her film debut as a drunken, bearded lady in the 1998's Dirty Work. Though the comedy, which stars Norm MacDonald, is a dud (less than $10 million at the box office), Romijn enjoys the work. "Making people laugh is the greatest experience," she tells the Chicago Tribune. "You really feel like you're doing your job right: communicating. That immediate reaction is so satisfying."PEOPLE picks Romijn for its annual 50 Most Beautiful issue. Among fellow models, Romijn is known for her wacky sense of humor. "She's so funny," fellow catwalker and pal Tyra Banks (left) tells PEOPLE. "I get a cramp in my side from laughing at her jokes." In 1999, Romijn makes the list again.
