Fitness Model Poses Biography

To make a long story shorter, I have been competing in fitness/figure for 6 years, but have always been a sports lover. My first year, or should I say, my first show was 'just to see if I liked it'. Thanks to my dear and heart filled friends Terry Goodlad and Carla Viberg, I went from no experience to winning my first two shows, Western Canadian Naturals in Kelowna and BC Championships in Burnaby in 2000, weighing in at 123 lbs, and now being hooked into fitness. Terry taught me everything. Now when I say everything, that isn't an understatement, it is all true. Terry covered my training techniques and dieting to how to walk in my heels and posing. The demonstrations were priceless!! Carla lent me all her suits and bikinis and taught me holds and strength moves. Now, I train year round for the Worlds, Pro Fitness Modeling and new to me this year - Bodybuilding and Figure. Today, I will weigh in at about 140 lbs. Quite a change from 123lbs! I am fortunate in having a gymnastics back ground as an athlete and National level Coach. To tell you the truth, the hardest part of being a fitness athlete for me was the stage facial expressions and walking for the first time in those shoes!  My newest passion is training in martial arts, focusing on Ninjutsu, Modern Arnis and Natural Spirit JKD.Presently, I am living in Calgary. I am fortunate to be working at Archer's Personal Training Studio with great co-workers and clients. Everyone there encourages me daily. To me this is a huge advantage. Having great support from home and at work makes preparing for a show that much more enjoyable. I am a Certified Personal Trainer and level 3 Gymnastics Coach with a Seneca College Diploma for Coaching Gymnastics at an Advanced level.Mary Luciano is an up and coming ‘celebrity’ in the raw food and national figure competition and fitness modeling industries.  Mary’s story and experiences have astounded fellow competitors, models, and individuals even in the raw food community

While the modeling industry can certainly provide for a fun and interesting work environment, modeling is still a job, like any other, and it requires hard work, dedication, and often, some measure of sacrifice. This is especially true when it comes to the targeted sports fitness market. There is definitely a call for fitness models to walk in shows, pose for magazines and websites, and even hawk consumer goods, but you have to be willing to meet certain criteria, and take the necessary steps to get noticed if you want to find work in this fitness modeling niche. So here are just a few things you’ll want to do if your professional goal is to become a fitness model. For starters, you’ve got to have the packaging down pat. As a fitness model, you should try to avoid extremes. This means you want to be healthy and display a fit physique. Those that are too skinny or too curvy may not get jobs (although other types of modeling could be more in their wheelhouse). By the same token, serious bodybuilders may not necessarily fit into the world of fitness modeling, simply because they fill a particular niche that is not considered mainstream when it comes to health and fitness. So your goal should be to stay at a healthy weight while shaving off fat and building overall muscle definition. If you can categorize yourself as athletic but still feminine and sexy, you’ll have the best shot at a career in fitness modeling.Of course, this requires dedication to a long-term health and fitness routine, so you’d better be invested in the process. You can’t just start working out when you get a job; you need to be ready to throw on a bikini or sportswear and model it at the drop of a hat. This means you’d better be committed to exercising, eating right, and living an overall healthy lifestyle before you even think about fitness modeling. Of course, keep in mind that you need a pretty face, a good smile, and a great attitude as well. While fitness modeling is mostly about the shape of your body, it’s still a competitive field, so you need an attractive face if you want to really make a go of it. Hey, it’s modeling! So once you’re in shape, how do you break into the industry?  The best thing you can do is treat it like a business rather than a lark.  You’ll want to start by getting yourself an agent and having some head and body shots done for a portfolio. Then you need to put yourself out there. This means entering all kinds of competitions, from beachside bikini contests, to online postings for viewers to judge. This is how you build up a résumé. You should also get busy networking, attending events (either as a contestant, or just to shake hands), and creating accounts on various industry websites and forums. Getting your name out there can be a lot of work, but the payoff could be a shot at your dream career.DNA Magazine calls him one of the 60 Sexiest Men Alive alongside Daniel Craig, and syndicated TV show EXTRA named him one of America’s Most Eligible Bachelors. I guess I’m not alone in finding those UFC fighters super sexy. Luckily for us, this stud decided to use that pretty face and ripped body of his to model instead of using it as punching bag for his opponents.Currently, Roberts is represented by Next Miami Modeling Agency.
